Wire Stack Ring Tutorial
- 1 x 6 mm Amethyst Bead
- 1 x 20 cm 20-gauge Stainless Steel - if you prefer, you can use 20-gauge dead soft wire.
- This ring was a size 6 - wire lengths can varied dependent on size of ring.
- Wire Cutters
- Chain Nose pliers
- Long Nose pliers
- Nylon Jaw pliers
- Ring Mandrel
20-gauge Stainless Steel that I purchased from Home Depot, it was not expensive, if you prefer, you can use 20-gauge dead soft wire.
IMPORTANT - Stainless Steel is a hard wire, it is not advisable to cut the wire with your jewelry cutters, please use cutters suitable for cutting stainless steel.
I used 18 cm of wire, I found it was just enough to make a size 7 ring, I think its better to use a longer piece of wire, say 20 cm or more dependent on ring size.
Place the 6 mm bead, of your chose, in the center of the wire.
Bend the wire up around bead, as indicated in image.
Wrap wire and bead once around mandrel at desired size, as indicated.
Wrap the wire over around the bead, pulling tight.
Your ring should look like this, at this stage. I'm just using the wooden clamp to show the ring, the clamp is not required to complete the project.
Disclaimer ~ this is not my design, I'm not sure where this design originated from, I have seen various methods of making this ring and would like to share my version of the rings.
